IBPS RRB until 2015 had a single level exam for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale-1 posts. Since 2016, there has been a two-tier exam for both the posts. Regional Rural Banks are local level banking organizations operating in the different States of India. They have been created with a view to primarily serve the rural areas of India with basic banking and financial services. However, RRBs have branches set up for urban operations and their area of operation includes small towns & semi-urban areas too. The area of operation of RRBs is limited to the area as notified by Government of India covering one or more districts in the State.

The IBPS RRB OA Preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on 19th, 25th August and 1st September 2018 and the mains examination is scheduled to be held on 7th October 2018

## Numerical Ability Syllabus for IBPS RRB OA Syllabus:

The Numerical Ability section in the Pre Exam would contain 40 questions for 40 marks.

The Numerical Ability section consists of questions from the following topics - Data Interpretation, Permutation, Combination & Probability, Sequence & Series, Simplification, Number Systems, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage & Averages, Profit & Loss Work & Time, Time & Distance, Mixtures & Allegations, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Surds & Indices, Sequence & Series. Our primary focus should be on clearing the cut-offs.

1. The ratio between the speeds of two trains is 6: 8. If the second train runs 500 km in 5 hours, then the speed of the first train is:

A. 85 km/h

Explanation:

Let the speed of two trains be 6x and 8x km/hr

Then, 8x = 500 / 5 = 100

x = 100 / 8 = 12.5

Speed of first train = (6 x 12.5) km/h = 75 km/h
