IBPS RRB 2018 Officer Scale 1 - Selection Procedure, Exam Pattern, Tentative Exam Dates, Salary/Pay Scale, Eligibility Criteria and Last Year (2017) Cutoffs
The Institute for Banking Personnel Selection conducts IBPS RRB exam every year to recruit Scale-1 Officers for Regional Rural Banks across different states. The notification for IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 2018 is was out recently. The exam will be conducted in August 2018 in two phases, Prelims and Mains. The number of vacancies varies each year as this exam follows a state-wise selection process.
What is IBPS?
The Institute for Banking Personnel Selection is a self-governed body whose mission is to recruit the best candidates for banks in India through personal assessment. In 2011, IBPS introduced a Common Written Examination (IBPS CWE RRB) to recruit Officers and Clerks in all Public Sector and Regional Rural Banks across the nation.
What is IBPS RRB?
IBPS RRB until 2015 had a single level exam for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale-1 posts. Since last year, there has been a two-tier exam for both the posts. The IBPS RRB OS 1 (Officer Scale) exam 2018 will be conducted in August.
IBPS RRB 2017 Officer Scale-1 Selection Procedure
The exam is conducted in two phases:
a) IBPS RRB 2018 Officer Scale-1 Prelims
b) IBPS RRB 2018 Officer Scale-1 Mains
All aspirants need to clear the Pre (Preliminary) exam first to go through to the Main Examination. The shortlisted candidates in Main Exam will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains Exam and candidate’s performance in the personal interview.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 Prelims
The IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 Prelims paper consists of 2 sections, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning with 40 questions each. The time allotted is 45 minutes combined for both the sections. There will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong question.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 Mains
The IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 Mains paper consists of 5 sections of 40 questions each. The time allotted will be 120 minutes. A penalty of 1/4th mark per the wrong question will be in place.

Candidate can opt for either of 4(a) or 4(b).
The marks obtained by the Candidate in this section will be considered in the shortlisting for Personal Interview process.
IBPS RRB 2018 Officer Scale-1 Exam Dates
The dates for Prelims and Mains as per the IBPS RRB Notification 2018 are:
a) Prelims: 11th, 12th and 18th of August, 2018
b) Mains: 30th September, 2018
IBPS RRB 2018 Scale-1 Officers Expected career track
The Candidates who clear the mains exam and the Interview will be recruited as Scale-1 Officers into one of the Regional Rural Banks. The reason this is one of the most sought after positions is the lucrative salary.
Expected Salary :- Rs. 29,000 - 33,000 (in hand)
IBPS RRB 2018 Officer Scale-1 Application and Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate must be a graduate from a government recognized institution. In addition to that, the candidate should’ve had English as one of his subjects in his graduation/Intermediate or HSC. Last year there were around 5539 vacancies across different states.
Age Limit: 18-30 Years
The online application will be available in the official notification. The application fee is as follows:-
100/- Rupees for SC/ST/PWD Candidates.
600/- for all other Candidates.
IBPS RRB Cut off marks state wise 2018
Cut-offs are never the same as requirement keeps changing from state to state.
